Networking Linear AMII / AMIII RS232 ports via Ethernet

Let me start off by saying we get plenty of calls about the feasibility of networking to any RS232/485 devices, often these are remote access controllers that people want to administer from the comfort of their own home or office. I also get plenty of calls from people asking for help on why their installation isn't working or is working intermittently. The most common problem seems to be baud rate!

First off lets start with a Linear Access AMIII. A very common controller that doesn't have an Ethernet interface (Linear it is 2014)...

I have had good luck using Sena Hello Device LS100 and the LS100W (wireless)

NOTE THAT THE BAUD RATE SET AT 38400!!! even though the manual states to set it at 9600 I was never able to get it working with the serial to Ethernet adapter with the 9600 setting.
